SOUND CHECKS: Start
at 6pm. Please ensure all equipment and band members
are in the venue at this time.
SOUND EQUIPMENT:
Please note that the venue
does not have a resident backline. We can however arrange
a drumkit in most circumstances. Just give us a bit
of notice.
ACCESS:
There is space to the side of the building where
bands can park to unload equipment through the fire
doors. We strongly advise you then move your transport
as people have been clamped in the past. Please ensure
the doors are shut when you're finished, it seriously
affects our soundproofing.
PARKING:
There is free parking in the next road, Copenhagen Street
after 6:30pm. The nearest NCP is St Pancras Road.
FIRE DOORS: Be aware
of the location of our fire doors. Don’t put anything
in front of them!! Equipment, chairs, elephants.. They
are clearly labelled. Please help us keep everyone safe.
GREEN
ROOM: A Green Room is provided upstairs for performers
to chill out and store their equipment (Cross Kings
take no responsibility for any losses occouring - but
there's usually a member of staff around so it's pretty
safe)
ARTIST
DISCOUNT ON DRINK: A French farmhouse style wine
is available for £8 a bottle with your food –
please make arrangements when the meal is booked so
we can have enough wine available/ chilled. A beer of
the day will be available to the artists at a discounted
£2.50, a half pint of any line soda drink (coke,
diet coke, lemonade, soda and lime or blackcurrant cordial)
is 50p and free iced water will be available at all
times.
ARTIST
DISCOUNT ON FOOD: We encourage artists and promoters
to take up our very good food deal. For £5 a head
artists may eat in the Green Room. A meal consisting
of fresh bread, large salad and dish of the day made
just for them. This is not only about eating, this is
about chilling out, bonding and providing a period of
calm after sound checks and before performance. With
this deal comes access to the room at any point in the
evening to get away from the crowd, store equipment
etc. The meal MUST be eaten in the Green Room, it cannot
be taken down to the bar. Please make us aware of any
allergies and whether you are a carnivore/ veggie/ vegan.
For this, we need
48 hours notice – YOU CANNOT COME IN ON THE NIGHT
AND EXPECT THIS DEAL.
Please be aware that consumption of food or drink purchased
outside the premises is not permitted in the venue.

REVIEW:
I loved playing
that gig!!!!
You Cross Kings
people were slick and proffessional and you treated
us the way bands get treated at fancy European tour
gigs, like Amsterdam and Germany...we kept saying that
it didn't feel like a London/home show...and when it
came to playing the whole band felt relaxed, excited
and warmly welcomed...
There are simply two types of
gig: good gigs and bad gigs...
Bad gigs:
These are the ones where the dressing room is the toilet
with no lock on the door...and the sound guy is deaf...and
your ears are bleeding from feedback....your mates cannot
find the venue and there is tax and doorman stress getting
them inside...the kind of gigs where you don't even
get a coke...and you wake up the next day knowing you
left something behind but you are kinda scared to go
back...you wake up with herpes from the dirty glasses...and
a vicious cringe...that dark shudder which makes you
seriously consider quitting...you wake up with some
cab driver snoring in your bed because you had to sleep
with him to get home...
Good gigs:
The other kind was a gig like Saturday at The Cross
Kings...For a start the Green Room was a really unexpected
and generous treat and the free food delicious...gorgeous
home made bread...a chilled out space...like i said
we kept thinking we were backstage at a gig in Amsterdam
for some reason...it was that kind of mellow...also
its kind of cool but unusual to sit around as a band,
eat and chat a bit before a gig...write the set list
and guest list...also the sound guy was a diamond, the
sound was great on stage...at one point i went into
the audience with the microphone and heard it from there
too...ace...very nice to have cheap beers laid on...friends
found it easy and came in and out with no problem...even
with the dreary smoking ban...
Definitely count us in for another
gig there...
We are only as good as our last
gig... and our last gig was a 10!
THANKYOU CROSS KINGS CREW!
